About Us – Welcome to Sunny Corner Pre-School
Nestled in the beautiful grounds of St Hilary Primary School, Sunny Corner Pre-School is a bright, welcoming setting where children can play, grow, and thrive. We have our own purpose-built space, with two spacious activity rooms and a lovely outdoor play area that we make the most of all year round – come rain or shine!
At Sunny Corner, we believe that play is at the heart of learning. Through play, children naturally discover who they are, how to connect with others, and how to make sense of the world around them. It helps build independence, confidence, and curiosity – all essential skills for lifelong learning.
Our play-led approach follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring every child’s learning and development is supported through fun, hands-on experiences. Alongside plenty of free play, we also offer carefully planned daily activities that support each child’s individual progress across all areas of development.
We enjoy a strong and supportive relationship with St Hilary Primary School and regularly make use of their fantastic facilities, including the library and school field – helping to gently prepare children for the transition to “big school” when the time comes.
Sunny Corner is proud to be a registered charity (No. 1039880),
a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, and Ofsted registered (No. 102876). We’re also proud to have achieved the Quality Assurance Award from the Cornwall Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership.
We offer term-time day care for children aged 12 months to 4 years, from 8:30am to 4:00pm, and we’re always happy to discuss earlier starts or later finishes – just speak to Lucy or Sarah.
We provide fully funded preschool sessions, as well as the option of affordable hourly rates for any extra sessions you may need.
