Your Guide to the EYFS at Sunny Corner
When your child joins Sunny Corner, they’ll be given a key person – a warm, familiar adult who helps them settle in, make friends, and feel safe and secure in their new environment.
Your key person will be your main point of contact throughout your child’s time with us. If you ever have any questions, worries, or just want to chat about how your little one is getting on, we’re always here and happy to help.
To support your child’s learning and development, their key person will observe them during play and record these special moments in their online Learning Journal. These observations help us understand what your child enjoys, how they are progressing, and what they might like to explore next. We’ll share these updates with you regularly – and we love it when parents and carers get involved too, by adding your own observations, photos, and comments from home.
All our learning is child-led, planned around each child’s interests and needs. Activities are designed to be fun, engaging, and to support development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
We know the EYFS can sometimes feel like a lot to take in, so we’ve included a helpful guide just for parents. It gives a simple and clear explanation of what the EYFS is and how it supports your child’s early years.
