We have a policy of equal opportunities at Sunny Corner and everyone is welcome, whatever his/her individual needs. Staff work closely with parents/carers and other outside agencies to ensure that the setting is inclusive in every way possible and confidentiality is always maintained.

- assist in identifying any special need a child might have
- plan approaches and strategies
- liaise with parents/carers
- liaise with outside agencies as appropriate
- support other staff to identify and support children and families with special needs
- keep up to date with current thinking, policy and practice
The Behaviour Management co-ordinator of the setting is Lucy Jenkins, whose role is to:
- assist staff in dealing with challenging behaviours
- liaise with parents/carers who are experiencing challenging behaviours at home or within the setting
- liaise with relevant outside agencies
- attend relevant training on the subject
The Safeguarding Children Officer is Marie Butts, who has attended Inter-Agency Child Protection training and whose role is to:
- attend relevant training and keep up to date on the subject
- Respond promptly and liaise with outside agencies if there is cause for concern about a child
- speak to parents/carers regarding any child protection matters
- ensure all staff are kept up to date with any events within the setting and with regards to changes in the child protection process
